Ryan, originally from South London, has forged a diverse and dynamic career in both the arts and visual storytelling. His journey began with the study of art, philosophy, psychology, and literature, before he trained as an actor at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Eager to expand his creative horizons, Ryan then pursued a Master’s degree in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at the renowned University of the Arts London.

In 2024, Ryan gained recognition for his role as Chris Taylor in Back to Black, the highly anticipated biographical film directed by BAFTA-nominated Sam Taylor-Johnson. Shortly thereafter, he returned to the stage, taking on the role of Cassio in Othello at Riverside Studios in Hammersmith, London.

As a documentarian and photographer, Ryan's work has led him to many corners of the globe, from Southeast Asia to the United States and Europe, that has been exhibited and printed in several magazines and news outlets. He has captured the lives of artists, actors, and musicians, including Michael Fox and Michelle Dockery, and touring bands, such as So Good, creating intimate portraits of their worlds and process.

In 2025, Ryan documented the Royal Shakespeare Company and the behind-the-scenes process of their production Kyoto at Soho Place, London, further cementing his reputation as a storyteller with a unique eye for capturing the artistry and human experience behind the lens.

Ryan can be dispatched worldwide and specialises in documentary, portraiture, travel and event photography with an emphasis on story driven narratives both personal and professional.
